After Argentina Beats France: Metro Celebrations Versus 227 Arrested In France

France team vs Argentina team: on going home

The French team goes straight home:

In the aftermath of the World Cup final, the Blues will return to France on Monday 19th December. The French team left its base camp, the luxurious complex of Al Messila, to reach Doha airport. The Blues left at 1:30 p.m. (local time) for an arrival scheduled for the afternoon at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport. They were accompanied by their families and First Lady Brigitte Macron

The French football team would no doubt want to go back home, and that’s exactly what they did as opposed to greeting their supporters at Place de la Concorde in Paris.

They are just going home on their return from Doha instead of addressing their fans gathering at 8:30 p.m, as was planned earlier.

Argentinian players will usher in crowds at Ezeiza International Airport:

Ezeiza International Airport is expected to be packed to receive the men from Argentina who are flying from Doha to Buenos Aires by private charter.

The flight will take approximately 21 hours, possibly with a technical stop in Rome for refueling concluding at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires late on Monday, December 19.

France team vs Argentina team: last words

Kylian Mbappé’s final words:

Unfortunate hero of the final, Kylian Mbappé reacted after the defeat of his team: “We will be back,” he tweeted in a message accompanied by a photo of himself passing with his head held low in front of the World Cup trophy.

Messi’s last words:

The Argentinian captain finally stated what his fans wanted to hear: that he will continue his national Argentina career after a World Cup win.

“I want to keep experiencing a few more matches as world champion,” Messi, 35, told Argentine television after his country’s epic penalty shoot-out victory in the World Cup final in Doha over France.

At this year’s World Cup, Messi won the Golden Ball for the best player and he was also able to take home the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

Argentina’s captain Lionel Messi holds the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

Vowing to continue to play for his country sounds like the competition between France and Argentina can continue 4 years later. It is amazing that the Argentina star Lionel Messi will keep playing for his country thanks to his lifetime ambition of winning the World Cup.

France team vs Argentina team: arrests and celebrations

227 arrests including 47 in Paris:

227 people were arrested, including 47 in Paris and its surrounding area since France was defeated in the World Cup final on Sunday December 18. Some clashes broke out in several cities in France and it got really bad:

  • At the Champs-Élysées, police officers (who were targeted by bottle throwing and fireworks) used tear gas.
  • In Lyon, around fifteen people were arrested for throwing projectiles and damage on Place Bellecour, according to the prefecture, while 12 police officers were injured.
  • In Nice, Mayor Christian Estrosi condemned the degradation in a district of the city “with the greatest firmness” as mortar fireworks and trash fires broke out. 33 arrests were made, including around 30 followed by police custody.
  • In Grenoble, in the station area, 200 people attacked trash cans and containers, prompting a police response.
  • In Béziers, a 14-year-old minor after mortars fired upon a CRS vehicle, was taken into custody.
  • At the start of the evening, five people were arrested in Bordeaux after clashes with the police on Place de la Victoire.

This is not something new because prior incidents had already occurred after the quarter-final for France against England then the semi-final for France against Morocco.

Argentinian fans go wild in Qatar’s metro:

In a total change of scenery, the Argentine party kept going and at 2.00 in the morning at the Lusail metro station over 2 hours after the game. Meanwhile in Buenos Aires, Argentina a scene of bedlam descended after their country won!
